Inspired by the old Waraji sandals used by foot soldiers and samurai
class in feudal-era Japan, Mizuno's BE shoes feature an activation
sockliner which replicates functions of the Waraji sandal.
The new Mizuno kicks allow the toes to move naturally up and down, or to
curl and grip, and activates the foot muscles. This activation helps
strengthen two main muscles across the base of the foot--the flexor
digital longus and the flexor hallucis longus--to provide its wearers
with more propulsive strength to improve running. The natural oblique
allows the toes to spread as if barefoot, which stabilizes naturally.

The Be includes a unique heel construction provided by a dynamic foot
counter (DFC) heel cup that maximizes the natural cushioning of your
heel pad fat, and a low profile EVA midsole offers protection and
cushioning. The soft, synthetic suede upper adds on comfort and
ventilation.

Wear the Mizuno Be shoe when you are or aren't training. The
minimalistic weight of the shoe is only 200g despite its durability.
