
Fans of running, trekking and the great outdoors should keep their schedule free for the 30th September, as the 3rd edition of the Malaysian Salomon X-Trail Run is set to take place that day at Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang.

This year's event will see more than 2,000 runners challenging themselves and facing the elements. The event serves to promote Green running, and will no doubt be a refreshing experience for marathoners who have grown accustomed to hitting the pavement in the big city of Kuala Lumpur.

During the pre-announcement event held at World Of Sports outlet e@Curve, WOS sales manager Glenny J Da Costa shared his hopes that this year's venue will be appropriate for runners of all levels.

were also at the pre-announcement event.
The X-Trail, covering a distance of 10km, have four categories — men’s
Open (16 years and above), men’s Veteran (41 years and above), women’s
Open (16 years and above) and women’s Veteran (41 years and above).
And for the first time ever, ALL finishers for ALL categories will
receive a FINISHERS medal & FINISHERS certificate. The top Five
winners in all categories will also stand to win Trophies + Salomon products worth
RM1,000, RM800, RM600, RM400 and RM200 respectively & prizes from
other sponsors as well.

Salomon is
the Title Sponsor & Pacesetters Athletic Club Malaysia is the event
organizer. The other sponsors include Powerbar, Ebene, Nestle Fitness Cereal, Gatorade, Suunto, Perskindol, Bootcamp, Gardenia and UPM.
Registration is now officially closed, but you can still come and show your support! Be sure to rise up bright and early: Flag off time for the 10km race is 7am for Men categories & 7.15am
for the Women categories. The first participants are expected to arrive
around 7.40am & the prize giving ceremony is expected to be around
9.30am. Light breakfast will be served to participants while waiting for the announcement of the final results.
