Imagine a makeup that could protect your face from the intense heat of roadside  bomb attacks? That's what researchers in the U.S. are currently working that could possibly save countless of soldiers.

The unique formulation is said to be able to protect exposed skin for up to 15 seconds before its own temperature climbs to the point where a mild first-degree burn is possible. Some tests showed that it lasted for up to 60 seconds, which is considered as adequate time for soldiers to get out of harms way.

So far, the researchers have only conducted tests using pig skin. There are also plans to see if the formulation could be used on the outside of fabric, to protect clothing, tents, and other material from burning. There are also plans to develop a colorless version for firefighters.
