Siri isn't the only voice command available on your iPhone. We've gotten
to know Siri better, and let's face it. It does a pretty good job at
the basic stuff, but it doesn't get things right all the time -
especially if it doesn't comprehend your accent.
Nuance Communications, one of the world's leading providers of voice and
language solutions recently launched its Dragon Dictation and Dragon
Search application in Bahasa Malaysia, providing Malaysians with a
convenient and accurate way to connect, socialize and search the net.
The voice-command lets you speak into your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to
make searching and obtaining information quick and easy. Dragon Search
boasts Nuance’s unique and innovative Dragon Search Carousel, which
delivers faster, smarter search results within seconds across multiple
channels all at once, including Google, Yahoo!, Wikipedia, iTunes,
YouTube and Twitter, without having to leave the app.
“We are thrilled to expand Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search into
Malaysia’s multicultural and multilingual community,” said Jason
Stirling, senior vice president, Asia Pacific, Nuance Communications.
“Voice-enabled mobile devices have become increasingly influential
across the world, and with both Dragon apps able to recognize local
accents and dialects, Malaysians now have an effortless form of texting,
emailing, updating social media and making mobile web searches at up to
five times faster than typing.”
The app is iOS 5-compatible and features a pop-up toolbar with app icons
for easy access to your emails, text messaging apps, Facebook or
Twitter status bars. It also comes equipped with an auto-save function
that retains dictated text in case your query gets interrupted by an
incoming phone call.
