Earlier today, rumors were swirling that Hosni Mubarak, the former dictator of Egypt who was ousted during last year’s Arab Spring, had been declared clinically dead at the age of 84. During his final days, he was serving life imprisonment for suppressing a revolt against his rule in February 2011 during which nearly 850 protesters were killed.

But don't go claiming that death list bet just yet. Mubarak's lawyers have since denounced the rumors by saying he is not dead.. yet. However, he had fallen into a coma after suffering a heart attack and stroke. Latest reports suggested that Mubarak is now on life support but is still "close to death," which is different from being "clinically dead," but still is not "totally dead."
