Those nights spent watching online reruns on your tablet are finally
going to pay off for advertisers and sleeping pill manufacturers.

According to a new study by Resonate, insomniacs are much more likely to use computers, tablets and cell phones as a way to watch television, and 30% spend more than 40 hours per week online.
The study consisted of more than 4,500 total respondents, of which 694
identified themselves as insomniacs. The self-identified insomniacs were
then weighted for age, gender and income. Insomniacs make up roughly
14% of the study.
A spokesperson for Resonate suggests hooking up pharma brands selling sleeping aids with time-targeted ads to help reach out to insomniacs online. They also state that mattress brands, consumer electronics retailers or energy drink makers could potentially benefit from these findings.
