According to the Telegraph, the footage was filmed in the northern Chinese city of Xi'an. The girl had fallen through a hollow section of the pavement to the bottom of a six-meter-deep pit below.

The incident was spotted by a passing cab driver who then rushed to her rescue by climbing down the hole with the aid of a loose cable hanging beneath the walkway. Firefighters eventually showed up, bringing a ladder with them and they both managed to get out safely.
